‘I am not a hurdle’, Shinde Paves Way for BJP Leadership
Mumbai : Amidst ongoing speculation about the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra post the Mahayuti’s decisive victory, Eknath Shinde on Wednesday clarified the Shiv Sena’s stance. He announced the party’s acceptance of the decisions made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the leadership role.
In a press conference at his Thane residence, Shinde emphasized the party’s commitment to the NDA and its leader, PM Modi. He stated, “I’ve conveyed to the Prime Minister and Home Minister that the Shiv Sena will not hinder the government formation process. Their decision, whoever they choose as the Chief Minister, will receive our full support.”
Shinde said that Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar and he would attend a meeting with Shah in Delhi on Thursday where a discussion would be held on this issue.
Shinde asserted, “I prioritize the collective good over individual positions. I’m not an obstacle to the government formation process. I’ve assured the Prime Minister that we wholeheartedly support the decision of the NDA and Mahayuti’s supreme leader.”
This statement effectively clears the path for the BJP to take the lead in forming the new Maharashtra government.
