HSRP Number Plate: State Road Transportation Department has extended the deadline for High Security Registration Plate (HSRP). But, with this, the department has made it mandatory to install HSRP till 30th April. However, Transport Department or Traffic Police are not seem to be involved in spreading awareness among citizens about this change. This has led to high chances of vehicle owners facing huge fines in near future.

There were around 2.5 million vehicles in Pune Regional Transport Department. The deadline for HSRP has been set for 30th April. Before, it was 31st March. Manchar based Aakash Motor Driving School Director, Mr. Surendra Kumar Varpe said that if HSRP plates are not installed by the deadline, citizens will have to face strict action and huge fines. Sunil Bankhele, Former Saranch of Manchar said that HSRP number plates will help in reducing vehicle theft crimes. Apart from this, it’ll help in National Security and Vehicle Identification System. Citizen owning vehicles older than 2019 should get HSRP plates on priority.
