HMPV Case in India : Gujarat has reported its first case of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), a respiratory virus, in a 2-year-old child from Chandkheda, Ahmedabad. This follows two confirmed cases in Karnataka, bringing the total number of HMPV cases in India to three.
The child in Ahmedabad is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital. Earlier, the Union Health Ministry confirmed two HMPV cases in Karnataka. A 3-month-old female infant and an 8-month-old male infant, both diagnosed with bronchopneumonia.
