Guillain-Barré Pune Cases : A 64-year-old woman in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, has died from pneumonia after contracting Guillain-Barré syndrome. The patient was admitted to the YCM Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad but succumbed to complications related to pneumonia.

Of the 13 individuals initially diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome in the area, six have recovered and been discharged. Unfortunately, one patient, the 64-year-old woman, has passed away. The remaining five patients are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
The deceased woman was first diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome on November 17 and was subsequently transferred to DY Patil Hospital due to respiratory difficulties. She was later shifted to YCM Hospital on December 29. Despite medical interventions, the patient passed away on January 21 due to pneumonia, according to Dr. Rajendra Wabale, Dean of YCM Hospital.
