Gaja Marne Arrested: In a major crackdown on organized crime, the Kothrud Police have arrested notorious gangster Gaja Marne along with his accomplices Om Dharmajigyasu, Kiran Padwal, and Amol Tapkir. The arrests come in connection with an assault case that took place on February 19, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The incident unfolded when IT engineer and BJP worker Jog, who was known to be close to Murlidhar Mohol, encountered a procession led by the Marne gang. As he tried to pass through, he raised concerns about the lack of space, which allegedly enraged the gang members. This led to a heated argument, followed by physical and verbal abuse. Apart from Gaja Marne, the main accused, Babya Pawar, has also been arrested by the Kothrud Police. However, two suspects remain evading the police, and law enforcement is actively tracking their whereabouts. To clamp down on Marne’s network, police have also launched a massive operation, conducting 74 raids across Pune and Mulshi in the time span of three days. Officers are also investigating other Marne gang members with criminal records to prevent further unlawful activities. Police commissioner mentioned that 27 members of Marne gang are under the watch of Pune police and the properties owned by the Marne gang is also being looked into.Lawful action is being taken under the MCOCA(Maharastra control of organised crime act) on the members of Marne gang. As for Marne he is still under police interrogation and will be brought before the court on tuesday.
