BJP Retains Key Portfolios
Nagpur : Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expanded his cabinet (Fadnavis Cabinet Expansion) today in a ceremony held in Nagpur. According to reports, 39 legislators will take the oath of office as ministers. Sources suggest that the Home Department, which had been a focus for Shiv Sena, will remain with the BJP. Additionally, BJP has retained the portfolios of Home, Revenue, Irrigation, and Education. The tenure of these ministers is said to be only two and a half years.
The cabinet expansion ceremony is taking place in Nagpur, where 20 BJP legislators will be sworn in as ministers, though the party may leave some positions vacant. In addition, 13 ministers from Shiv Sena and 10 from NCP will take their oaths. It is expected that the list of portfolios will be made public later tonight.

Fadnavis Cabinet Expansion :
– Bharat Gogawale, a Shiv Sena leader from Mahad in Raigad, took the oath. He belongs to the Maratha Kunbi community.
– Pratap Sarnaik, a prominent leader of the Maratha community and Shiv Sena, also took the oath. He has won elections continuously since 2009.
– Sanjay Shirshat, a Shiv Sena leader from Aurangabad West, took the oath after defeating Raju Shinde from the Uddhav faction.
– Sanjay Sawkare, a BJP leader from Bhusawal, also took the oath.
– Narhari Zhirwal, a senior tribal leader, former Deputy Speaker, and legislator from Dindori, also took the oath.
– Jaykumar Gore, a BJP legislator from Satara, took the oath.
– Manikrao Kokate, an NCP leader and four-time elected legislator from Sinnar, took the oath.
– Shivendra Raje Bhosale, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and BJP leader from Satara, took the oath.
– Aditi Tatkare, a leader from the Ajit Pawar faction and former minister, took the oath. She represents Shrivardhan constituency.
– Ashish Shelar, a close associate of Jay Shah and Mumbai BJP president, took the oath.
– Shambhuraj Desai, a close aide of Eknath Shinde and a former minister, took the oath.
– Atul Save and Ashok Uike also took the oath, with Ashok Uike elected from Ralegaon.
– Pankaja Munde, who had been a minister from 2014 to 2019 and is a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, took the oath.
– Jaykumar Raval, a former state BJP vice-president, took the oath from Shindkheda constituency.
– Uday Samant, a Shiv Sena leader from Ratnagiri, took the oath.
– Mangal Prabhat Lodha, an affluent MLA from Malabar Hill, took the oath.
– Dhananjay Munde, close to Ajit Pawar and elected from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, took the oath.
– Sanjay Rathod, a Shiv Sena leader from Digras and a close ally of Eknath Shinde, took the oath.
– Dada Bhuse, a former minister and legislator from Malegaon Outer, took the oath.
– Ganesh Naik, a Shiv Sena MLA from Navi Mumbai, also took the oath.
– Gulabrao Patil, a Shiv Sena MLA from Jalgaon Rural, took the oath.
– Girish Mahajan, considered a close associate of Devendra Fadnavis and a senior BJP leader from Jamner, took the oath.
– Chandrakant Patil, a senior BJP leader from Kothrud and a former minister in the Shinde government, took the oath.
– Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Hasan Mushrif also took the oath as ministers.
Ahead of the cabinet expansion, Shiv Sena leader Narendra Bhondekar resigned from his position as the deputy leader of the Assembly, reportedly due to dissatisfaction over not being given a ministerial post.
