E-KYC of 64% of Ration Cards Completed in Pune
Pune: The state government has made it mandatory to link ration card (E-KYC of of Ration Cards) details with Aadhaar for availing various government schemes. In light of this, the district supply department is updating the information of all ration card holders in the district with their Aadhaar details.
According to the information, the details of approximately 1.4 lakh consumers have been verified so far. This percentage is approximately 64% compared to the total number of consumers. If this information is not updated, the concerned individuals will not be able to avail the benefits of such schemes. District Supply Officer Mahesh Sudhalkar has appealed to all consumers to submit their fingerprints along with Aadhaar connection at the shops. (E-KYC of of Ration Cards)
6.30 lakh ration cardholders in the district
Updated information of ration card holders in the district is currently being collected. For this, e-KYC, i.e., customer information, is being added to the ration card. This includes Aadhaar number and fingerprints. This process is being carried out by the shopkeeper at the same ration shop from where we buy grains. This will prevent fake ration card holders. There are 6,30,854 ration card holders in the district. There are a total of 26,60,223 members in these ration cards. At least one member, i.e., 100% of the ration cards in the district, has been linked with Aadhaar.

e-KYC of 16.93 lakh members completed in the district so far
As per the state government’s directives, all ration card holders and their families have been instructed to undergo e-KYC. Accordingly, e-KYC of 16,93,582 members has been completed in the district so far. This ratio is 63.66% of the total number. Of these, 73% of the e-KYC has been completed in Shirur taluka, while the lowest 45% has been done in Mulshi taluka.

During e-KYC, it is being verified online with the Aadhaar card provided by the customer. The customer’s name, gender, and date of birth are recorded after matching with the information previously provided by the customer. Fingerprints are also being taken afresh. After e-KYC, the ration card is updated.
While availing the benefits of state government schemes like Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, ration card information is sought. The benefits of these schemes are provided after matching the ration card information. Therefore, District Supply Officer Mahesh Sudhalkar has appealed to ration card holders and their families to undergo e-KYC.
