CNG Prices Hike in Pune: Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd (MNGL) has increased the retail price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Pune by ₹1.10 per kilogram, effective from midnight on Saturday. The new price stands at ₹89 per kg.

This price adjustment reflects the impact of various factors on the fuel market, including global energy trends, domestic production levels, and transportation costs.

The price hike is expected to affect commuters and businesses that rely on CNG-powered vehicles. Individuals may face increased transportation expenses, while businesses may need to adjust their operational budgets to accommodate the higher fuel costs.

“MNGL has carefully considered this decision, prioritizing the interests of our valued customers,” stated MNGL in a press release. “While the rise in imported natural gas prices and market-based gas supply presented significant challenges, MNGL has absorbed a portion of this increase to minimize the impact on consumers. The CNG price in Pune will increase marginally, demonstrating our commitment to both customer affordability and the integrity of our gas supply.”

Despite the price increase, CNG remains significantly more affordable than both petrol and diesel in Pune. CNG is currently more than 40% cheaper than petrol and over 20% cheaper than diesel, making it a cost-effective and environmentally friendly fuel option for vehicle owners.
