Nashik : Chhagan Bhujbal’s Photo Missing from NCP Banner : In a surprising turn of events, the photo of senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal has disappeared from a banner in Nashik; only to be replaced by the image of his political rival, Suhas Kande. The banner, put up by NCP Ajit Pawar group minister Manikrao Kokate’s supporters outside his residence, has sparked heated discussions across the state.

The controversy comes at a time when the state government recently expanded its cabinet following the Mahayuti’s clear majority in the elections. On December 5, the new cabinet was sworn in, but the cabinet expansion had been delayed for several days, attracting significant attention from the public. In total, 39 ministers took their oath—33 cabinet ministers and six state ministers. Among them, the BJP appointed the most ministers, with 19, followed by Shiv Sena with 11, and the NCP Ajit Pawar faction, which saw 9 ministers inducted.

One of the notable aspects of this cabinet expansion was the inclusion of several new faces, resulting in the sidelining of many experienced leaders. Chhagan Bhujbal, a prominent leader from the NCP Ajit Pawar faction, was notably excluded from the new cabinet, which led to his visible displeasure. Bhujbal, who had previously sided with Ajit Pawar during the rebellion against the NCP, has openly expressed his disappointment at being overlooked.

When Ajit Pawar led a revolt against the NCP, Bhujbal was one of the key leaders who joined him, along with eight other ministers. However, in this cabinet reshuffle, Bhujbal found himself out of the picture. His frustration over this has been evident, and he has repeatedly spoken about his discontent.

Adding fuel to the fire, the banner issue has intensified the political tension. While the banner was intended to celebrate Kokate’s induction into the cabinet, Bhujbal’s absence from the poster—replaced by his staunch political adversary, Suhas Kande—has left many questioning the internal dynamics within the NCP. Bhujbal, already upset over his exclusion from the cabinet, has now publicly expressed his dissatisfaction, stating, “I should have been in the cabinet. It needs to get investigated why I was sidelined.” The issue highlights the growing discord within the NCP and further fuels the political drama in Maharashtra.
