Educational Reforms for Better Quality
Bhoyar further mentioned that the Education Department is working to improve educational quality by making changes to the curriculum, inspired by the CBSE system. The newly formed Steering Committee, in line with the new education policy, recommended adopting the CBSE curriculum. However, only a few adjustments have been made to the curriculum without fully adopting the CBSE framework. This year, the textbooks for first-grade students will be aligned with the CBSE curriculum. Bhoyar emphasized that these changes will be phased in gradually. Pollution in Sangam Water During Kumbh Mela: Water Not Suitable for Bathing or Drinking.
Anand Nivasi Gurukul Schools for 9th to 12th Grades
In an effort to provide holistic education that goes beyond traditional schooling, Bhoyar announced the introduction of Anand Nivasi Gurukul schools for students in grades 9 to 12. These schools will offer specialized training in fields like art, sports, physical education, and music, providing students with a chance to pursue their passions alongside academics. These schools will be set up in eight divisions of the state, with one school in each division. Students who show interest in these fields will be selected for admission through a screening process. Additionally, five Vidyaniketan schools in the state will be converted into Anand Nivasi Gurukul schools, while three new schools will be established in other areas. The government will provide teachers for these schools, and applications will be invited from individuals interested in teaching, with an evaluation process for student admissions.
Government’s Focus on RTE and Primary Education
Bhoyar also highlighted the importance of Right to Education (RTE) in benefiting underprivileged students. However, he acknowledged that schools often face financial losses due to delays in receiving reimbursements for fees under RTE. He assured that the government would implement a permanent solution to address this issue. Bhoyar also stated that the government is working on drafting a law to regulate pre-primary education, ensuring that quality education is provided at the foundational level.

School Quality Inspections and CM Shri Schools
As part of ongoing efforts to improve school standards, the Education Department is conducting school visits to assess and monitor their quality. Bhoyar also shared that a new initiative, CM Shri Schools, will be launched based on the model of some PM Shri schools. These schools will primarily include institutions run by local self-government bodies, as encouraged by the Chief Minister.
These changes mark a significant shift in Maharashtra’s education landscape, focusing on academic rigor, specialized training, and enhanced quality control to shape the future of students across the state.
