New Delhi: Most of the government offices including stock market, government banks, commodity market will remain closed today because of Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti and Baisakhi.
According to the information given on the BSE website, Equity, Derivatives Segment, SLB, Security Lending and Borrowing, Currency Derivatives Segment and Interest Rate Derivatives Segment will remain closed today. Along with this, the commodity segment will also remain closed. Also, government banks and government offices will remain closed in most of the states.
Now, trading will happen directly on Monday. Because today the market is closed due to Ambedkar Jayanti and Baisakhi. Tomorrow being a Saturday, the market will remain closed. After that there will be Sunday.
Today on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, banks are closed in many states. Banks will remain closed in most cities of the country including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Patna and Ranchi today, according to RBI. On the other hand, tomorrow i.e. April 15, banks will remain closed in Assam, Kerala, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Vishu/Bohag Bihu/Himachal Divas/Bengali New Year Day (Nabvarsh).
