Maharashtra Suffers Extreme Heatwave: The minimum temperature in the state has spiked due to hot winds coming from the north. Temperature in Madhya Maharashtra has crossed the 40 degree mark. These includes Solapur, Akola, Amravati, Yavatmal in Vidarbha, and Aurangabad and Parbhani in Marathwada. Meanwhile Akola recorded the highest temperature of 44.1 degrees Celsius in the state. The maximum temperature in the state is likely to increase by two to three degrees Celsius in the next two to three days. The Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of light rain in Vidarbha.

In starting of April month, many parts of the state received unseasonal rains. There was also hailstorm in some areas. However, now the temperature has starting to go up again due to the hot winds coming from the north. Due to this, the humidity in the air has increased. A heat wave has spread in the state. The weather is likely to remain dry in Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada, while there is a possibility of hot and humid weather in isolated places. The Meteorological Department has warned that the state will continue to experience heatwaves for the next few days.
