The police took this action against drivers who made unauthorized interference in vehicles and changed the silencer of bullet motorcycles. Action is taken regularly by the traffic departments under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Branch. A total of 4,853 cases have been registered against drivers who interfered with vehicles without authorization from January 1 to April 10, 2025. A fine of Rs. 48 lakh 49 thousand has been collected. 542 silencers collected on the grounds of the police headquarters in the presence of Police Inspector Vishwajit Khule of the Nigdi Traffic Department have been disposed of by rolling a road roller.
For the past few days, there have been increasing cases of bullets being driven at high speed in the city and surrounding areas, modified silencers making noise pollution is add-on. There were many complaints that citizens, especially the elderly, are being bothered by this sounds coming from the silencer. Against this backdrop, Pimpri-Chinchwad police have started a crackdown. A total of 4,853 cases have been registered. The police said that this action will continue in the future.
