Dhananjay Munde Resigns: Political tensions in Maharashtra have intensified as NCP leader Supriya Sule questions Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s silence over Dhananjay Munde’s delayed resignation. Munde, a cabinet minister, stepped down following allegations linking him to a serious criminal case related to murder of Beed sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. However, Sule has raised concerns about why the resignation took so long despite the government having access to crucial evidence.(Dhananjay Munde Resigns)

Sule pointed out that the resignation came after 84 days, questioning the moral and ethical standards of governance. She stated that if such allegations had been made against her party, immediate action would have been taken. She emphasized that public trust in leadership depends on swift and transparent decisions.
The lack of response from Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has also drawn criticism. Sule questioned why key leaders remained silent for weeks despite the severity of the allegations. Even tough the evidence like photos of the act of murder and court chargesheets had surfaced no action was taken. She believes that such delays weaken public confidence in the administration and its commitment to justice.
Munde initially expressed willingness to resign only if senior leaders deemed it necessary. This conditional stance fueled further controversy, as critics argued that accountability should not be optional. Sule stressed that in matters of public office, moral responsibility should come before political calculations.
Political opponents have used this issue to demand stricter measures against leaders facing allegations. Many protests for action and resignation of Munde have already been held. They argue that delayed action sets a dangerous precedent, allowing accused politicians to hold onto power despite public outcry.
