Friendship Cup 2025: Organized by the Punit Balan Group, is set to begin on March 4 in Pune. This year marks the fourth edition of the tournament, featuring 24 teams from Ganpati Mandals, Navratri Mandals, and Dhol-Tasha Pathaks. The competition will continue until March 9, promising an exciting battle for the championship title.

Punit Balan, director of the organizing group, highlighted the uniqueness of this event. “This tournament brings together teams from different Ganpati Mandals and Pathaks, creating a strong sense of unity and sportsmanship,” he said. The event is sponsored by Manikchand Oxyrich and is gaining popularity each year. Eight new teams have been added this season, increasing the competition level.
Some of Pune’s most renowned Ganpati Mandals, including Kasba Ganpati, Dagdusheth Halwai, Tambdi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim, Tulshibaug. And Bhau Rangari Ganpati, are part of this. Additionally, Navratri Mandals and Dhol-Tasha Pathaks such as Shri Sai Mitra Mandal, Yuva Vadya Pathak, and Nadbrahma Sarvadak will also contribute to it. All matches will be played at L.R. Shinde High School Ground in Sahakarnagar. The tournament will follow a league and knockout format, with the top eight teams advancing to the final rounds.
The Friendship Cup 2025 winner will receive ₹2,11,000 and a trophy, while the runner-up will be awarded ₹1,11,000 and a trophy. Individual awards include: Best Player of the Tournament – ₹51,000 and an electric bike. Fair Play Award – ₹25,000,Best Batsman, Bowler, Wicketkeeper, and Fielder – ₹11,000 each. Man of the Match for Each Game – ₹5,000.
