Sources close to Sharad Pawar revealed that he has been feeling uneasy, prompting the decision to call off his tours. Pawar had been scheduled to visit various regions over the next few days but will now take a break to focus on his health. This development comes amidst the ongoing political activities within the NCP, especially following a major internal rift after Ajit Pawar’s rebellion.
NCP’s Internal Split and Political Impact:
The NCP has been facing significant internal divisions following the defection of Ajit Pawar, who led a faction of the party and formed a separate group. Ajit Pawar’s faction has garnered support from several NCP legislators, resulting in a split within the party. Ajit Pawar’s group now controls the official NCP symbol and name, while Sharad Pawar’s faction was given a new symbol – a tuba (trumpet).
Despite this division, Sharad Pawar’s group made a strong impact in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, delivering a blow to the Mahayuti (BJP-led alliance).
