The Ravet police have arrested three individuals involved in this heinous act. The accused have been identified as Ayush Anand Bhoite (28, resident of Walhekarwadi, Chinchwad), Sushil Balendra Thakur (22, resident of Bapdevnagar, Dehuroad), Ritik Sanjay Singh (25, resident of Bapdevnagar, Dehuroad). Among the arrested, Bhoite is accused of assaulting the teenage girl.
The victim, originally from Rajgurunagar, was residing in Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, to prepare for the NEET medical entrance exam. Five years ago, she had connected on Instagram with another girl referred to as a “Reel Star,” living in Pune’s Kondhwa area. This “Reel Star” had visited the victim’s hostel the previous day, citing issues with her mother, and stayed overnight.
The “Reel Star” had earlier developed an acquaintance with one of the accused, Bhoite, via Instagram. On the day of the incident, she went to meet Bhoite in Ravet and consumed alcohol with him. She later invited the victim to join the gathering. The victim was picked up from her hostel by Sushil and Ritik in a car and brought to Ravet, where more alcohol was consumed.
Assault During “Truth and Dare” Game
As the group played “Truth and Dare,” inappropriate actions began under the guise of the game. Initially, the accused attempted to kiss the “Reel Star,” and later, Bhoite directed his attention toward the victim. He took her to the bathroom, where the assault occurred.
Phone Call Exposes the Crime
The crime came to light when a phone call was accidentally made from the victim’s mobile to a relative during the assault. The relative overheard the incident and immediately informed the victim’s parents. The parents rushed to Pimpri-Chinchwad in the early hours and reported the incident to the police.
Using technical data from mobile phones, the police identified and apprehended the accused. The “Reel Star” was also summoned for questioning. All three suspects were arrested late at night, and a case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Ravet police station.
Senior Police Inspector Nitin Fatangre stated, “The accused have been arrested, and further investigations are underway to ensure justice for the victim.” (Ravet Truth and Dare Assault Case)
