Pune Illegal Gas Cylinder Racket: The Sinhagad Road Police have successfully dismantled an illegal operation involving the hoarding and unauthorized sale of domestic cooking gas cylinders. One individual, Vikas Dhondappa Akale (31), residing in Charwad Vasti, Vadgaon Budruk, and originally from Solapur, has been arrested in connection with the case.

During a routine patrol in the Vadgaon Budruk area, the police received a tip-off regarding the illegal storage of gas cylinders. Acting swiftly, they set up a trap and intercepted a tempo loaded with 61 cylinders. Akale was arrested at the scene. Investigation revealed that he was involved in illegally hoarding and likely selling these cylinders on the black market. Authorities are currently investigating the source of the cylinders and tracing their intended destination.
It is noteworthy that Akale had previously been involved in a similar incident just two months ago.
This operation was conducted under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Dilip Daingade of Sinhagad Road Police Station and Crime Branch Inspector Uttam Bhajanawale, with the active participation of Assistant Inspector Sachin Nikam, Sub-Inspector Santosh Bhandwalkar, and their team.
