Recently, a cold wave gripped the state, with temperatures plummeting below 10°C in several regions, including Pune. Dense fog and even hail were reported in areas such as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalgaon, and Parbhani during the early morning hours.
According to the IMD, this change in weather patterns can be attributed to the development of cyclonic winds in Southeast Iran and Southwest Rajasthan, which have significantly altered atmospheric pressure. These changes are expected to align the western and eastern winds, thereby reducing the intensity of the cold wave. Consequently, minimum temperatures across the state are likely to increase by approximately 3°C in the coming days. (Pune Weather Update)
