The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has taken up this project and is expected to invest around ₹650 crores. The flyover will be constructed at Lakshmi Chowk, one of the busiest intersections in the area.
The decision to build the flyover comes after the successful completion of the Pune Metro project, which connects Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar. While the metro has improved connectivity, the increased influx of people has also exacerbated traffic problems in certain areas.
The new flyover, measuring approximately 720 meters in length, is expected to divert traffic away from the congested Lakshmi Chowk, thereby reducing travel time for commuters. Additionally, MIDC is also planning to widen a six-lane road between Baner and Hinjewadi to provide an alternative route for motorists.

To further improve the infrastructure in Hinjewadi, MIDC is also undertaking other projects, including widening roads and installing CCTV cameras. The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is also involved in these efforts and will be providing the necessary land for the road widening project.
Local residents have expressed their satisfaction with these developments, as they have been facing severe traffic congestion for years. The new flyover and other infrastructure improvements are expected to significantly enhance the quality of life for people living and working in Hinjewadi. (Hinjewadi to Get New 4-Lane Flyover)
