Family Members Assault Bharti Hospital Staff in Pune After Patient’s Death
A disturbing incident unfolded at Bharti Hospital in Pune on January 7, 2025, when the family members of a deceased patient assaulted Bharti Hospital staff and caused damage to hospital property. The incident occurred after an 86-year-old patient passed away during treatment.
The family members, alleging medical negligence, became aggressive and disruptive in the outpatient department (OPD) around 12:15 PM. Despite efforts by hospital staff and security to de-escalate the situation, the family members assaulted several employees, including security guards and other staff members.

Following the incident, the hospital authorities filed a complaint with the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. Six family members, including three women, were booked for assault and property damage.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, led by Assistant Police Inspector Snehal Thorat. This incident underscores the growing concern about the safety of healthcare workers and the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents.
