Money Dispute Leads to Tragic Workplace Violence

Pune IT Crime News : A 28-year-old woman, Shubhada Shankar Kodare, tragically lost her life after a brutal attack by her male colleague at WNS Global Services, a BPO firm in Yerwada, Pune. The incident occurred on January 7th around 6:15 PM in the company parking lot.

Shubhada, an accountant at the firm, sustained critical injuries when Krishna Satyanarayan Kanaujia, her 30-year-old colleague, attacked her with a sharp weapon, reportedly a chopper. Despite immediate medical attention at Sahyadri Hospital, she succumbed to excessive blood loss.

The horrifying incident has sent shockwaves through the city and raised serious concerns about women’s safety in the workplace.

Police investigations revealed that a financial dispute between the two individuals was the motive behind the attack. Shubhada had borrowed Rs. 4 lakhs from Krishna and had been unable to repay the loan, leading to escalating tensions.

The accused, Krishna Kanaujia, was apprehended by the Yerwada police shortly after the incident and is currently in police custody.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-IV), Himmat Jadhav, confirmed the victim’s death and stated that the accused confessed to the crime during interrogation. He cited a history of disputes between the two over the outstanding loan amount.
