Light Rain Forecast for Pune : Pune, after experiencing a recent spell of chilly weather with single-digit temperatures, is expected to witness several days of cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Starting Thursday, December 26, the city may receive light rainfall due to the influx of moisture-laden winds from the northern part of the country.

Anupam Kashyapi, a former head of weather forecasting at IMD, explained that southerly winds will facilitate the incursion of moisture from the Bay of Bengal. “Due to cold nighttime temperatures, isolated fog patches are likely to be observed in parts of Maharashtra, including Pune,” he stated.

Kashyapi further predicted that Pune will experience cloudy skies beginning on Christmas Day (December 25). “The cloudy weather is likely to result in a decrease in daytime temperatures, leading to a noticeable wind chill throughout the day,” he added.
In the early part of December, Pune and its surrounding regions experienced a significant drop in minimum temperatures, with some areas, such as the National Defense Academy, recording lows of around 6 degrees Celsius.
This cold wave was primarily attributed to the influx of cold winds from the north, compounded by low humidity levels associated with the formation of low-pressure areas in the Bay of Bengal.
