New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strategically appointed two central observers to oversee its legislative party meeting in Maharashtra, signaling the next steps in forming the state’s new government.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani have been named as central observers for the crucial meeting, which is scheduled for December 3. This development comes amidst heightened anticipation about who will lead Maharashtra’s government.

Devendra Fadnavis is widely expected to be elected as the legislature party leader. The BJP has instructed all its MLAs to be present in Mumbai for the pivotal meeting.

The formal oath-taking ceremony is set for the evening of December 5 at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to attend.

The BJP is proceeding with caution, recognizing the elevated expectations of its allies, particularly the Shiv Sena, following their substantial election victory. While Eknath Shinde advocates for alliance unity, some allied leaders have begun expressing varying perspectives.

Election Highlights :
Mahayuti alliance won a resounding 230 out of 288 assembly seats
BJP secured 132 seats
Shiv Sena claimed 57 seats
Ajit Pawar-led NCP won 41 seats
