PMC NEWS: PMC is preparing for maintenance of roads before monsoon. The PMC Administration had sought permission from the Traffic Police to close the city roads for some time to carry out pre-monsoon works. Accordingly, the police have given permission to carry out works at 61 places, allowing PMC to close these toads for a short period. (PMC NEWS)
The PMC has identified 21 places in the city where water accumulates during the monsoon and has made the necessary planning to ensure that water does not accumulate during this monsoon.
Since all these works need to be completed in the next one month, the PMC had sent a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) to the Traffic Police, as well as a proposal for 63 roads, seeking approval to carry out the work.
The Traffic Police has given approval to carry out work at 61 places, said Prithviraj B P, Additional Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation.
These works will start soon as the police have given ‘NOC’. In the last few years, the roads in the city are waterlogged due to heavy rains in a short period of time. This causes traffic jams. This year, the municipal corporation has started preparations to avoid this. Under the National Disaster Management Plan, pre-monsoon works will be done at 23 places in the city. For that, roads have to be dug at 21 places.
Therefore, the traffic on this road has to be planned. Police have given permission in principle to do these works.
